Here are the cards we play with. They are also called "German Cards". In other areas of Switzerland they use the "French Cards".

The lowest card is the 6 then comes the 7 and 8. The 9 is also called the Nel (no translation). Then comes the TEN. After that the "BUUR" (Farmer) also called Jack, then comes the "DAAM" (Wybervolch) or Queen. After that comes the"CHOENIG" or King and then the "ASS" or Ace. The Jack is the highest card in a trump game, followed by the Nel and the Ace. The Six is the highest card if we play the "Undenufe" or "Bottom Up" game. Also there is the "Obenabe" or "Top Down" game, in which case the Ace is the highest card.
